CHAIN REACTION

These days, where ever I turn I see chains, on jackets, t-shirts, pants, boots, shoes; everywhere. Fashion is possessed by chains of all colors and sizes, don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, actually I like the trend. Almost all jewelry looks like chains, also liking it, but this is going to be a story about shoes, actually ankle boots.

If you like the chain trend, take a look how to transform old ankle boots into trendy chain ankle boots on easy and simple way.

Whole thing is very easy. You can buy chains in any hardware store; they can sell you however long you want it (you’re not even going to need a meter, maybe half a meter) and the price is very acceptable, maybe from 2-10 dollars. I don’t remember any more because I bought mine a long time ago for something else, never did the “something else” thing. :)

It would be good to know the length of chain you want, so they can cut the chain in store. Measure the length at home and take enough to go around your ankle or just to go on the front side of boots, that’s what I’m going to do today.

Cut the can in pieces that are the same size.

Clean up the boots.

You can glue the chain to boots, sew it or just wrap it around your ankle. I sew the chain on the boots, so I can always take it off.

You can also push a piece of fabric or some kind of string trough chain links and tie it up around ankle. That way you can easily remove it when you don’t want it anymore. The string that will go through chain links can be in some crazy color or with sequins.

And here is it. I took a picture when only one shoes was done so you can see how it looks with and without chain.

And chain reaction begins!
